PUAFER008 - Confine small emergencies in a facility
The PUAFER008 – Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safely identify, assess and control small emergencies in the workplace or community. This includes incidents such as minor fires, chemical spills or vehicle accidents that can be managed using initial response equipment until professional help arrives.
This nationally aligned training is ideal for employees, contractors, students or residents who are required to hold first attack firefighting skills under facility emergency procedures. Participants will learn how to prepare for emergencies, confine hazards safely, and report on the facility’s emergency response, all in accordance with Australian Standards AS 3745 and AS 4083 and organisational policies.
Key learning outcomes include the ability to use fire extinguishers, spill kits and personal protective equipment (PPE), communicate effectively with occupants and emergency personnel, and apply WHS/OHS and risk management processes to maintain safety.
This course builds practical capability and confidence to act decisively when an incident occurs — ensuring small emergencies remain small.
