Course Set - HLTAID009 & UETDRMP018 (CPR & LVR)
This combined course set covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment (excluding overhead lines and underground cables). Delivered across Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Tomago, this training suits electricity supply industry (ESI) and electrical industry workers needing to meet CPR and LV rescue competency requirements in one program.
The course includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how these apply to ESI and electrical industry workers meeting work health and safety (WHS) and mobility and mutual aid requirements.
Participants will gain the skills and knowledge to review site specific hazards, follow isolation processes and safely carry out the LV panel rescue procedure, as well as the ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty across a range of situations. Combining practical skills with theoretical knowledge, the program allows participants to be assessed as competent in CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, as well as rescue procedures conducted under network operator conditions.
Due to the high risk nature of the electrical industry, this course set is a mandatory requirement for many roles, ensuring employees develop and maintain the professional skills needed to respond safely and effectively in an emergency.
