Need your electrical team certified in LV rescue? We'll come to you.
On-site UETDRMP018 training for electrical workers requiring LV rescue competency (HLTAID009 required first). Prefer to come to us? We also run sessions at Tomago.
On-site training for your workplace, or at our Tomago centre
This nationally recognised unit provides electrical workers with the skills and knowledge to safely perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment (excluding overhead lines and underground cables). Delivered onsite at your workplace, or at our Tomago training centre, this course supports electrical workers across Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. Our trainers bring real frontline experience from emergency and clinical settings, so you're learning from people who've genuinely managed these situations.
The course covers the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how these apply to electricity supply industry (ESI) and electrical industry workers meeting work health and safety (WHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
Designed for participants already working in, or familiar with, electrical industry environments, this practical training covers industry standard PPE and rescue equipment, safe approach distances and rescue procedures conducted under network operator conditions. Participants will learn to review site specific hazards, isolation processes and emergency response requirements, and demonstrate the ability to safely remove a casualty and provide immediate first aid until professional medical help arrives.
We also work with larger teams and corporate groups, training staff together at our Tomago facility, or on-site at your workplace. It's an efficient way to build a genuinely capable, confident team.

-
Yes, this standalone version assumes you already have valid CPR competency, since the practical assessment requires you to demonstrate it. If your CPR isn't current, one of our combined sets (HLTAID009 & UETDRMP018, or HLTAID011 & UETDRMP018) gets both done in the one session.
-
It's aimed more broadly at anyone working on or near live LV panels and switchboards as part of their role; electrical workers, apprentices, and safety observers required to hold current rescue competency, not just fully licensed electricians.
-
No, this unit is specifically about rescue from a live low voltage panel or switchboard. Overhead lines and underground cables are excluded and fall under different training and licensing requirements entirely.
-
It's the same unit; UETDRMP018 is the current national standard for LV rescue, whether you're an ESI worker, a contractor, or an electrical apprentice. Some ESI employers may have additional site-specific requirements on top, so it's worth checking with your employer.
