Course Set - HLTAID011 & UETDRMP018 (First Aid & LVR)

This combined course set covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response and perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment (excluding overhead lines and underground cables). Delivered across Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Tomago, this training is ideal for electrical and electricity supply industry (ESI) workers needing to meet both first aid and LV rescue competency requirements in one program.

The course includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of LV panel rescue equipment, and how these apply to ESI and electrical industry workers meeting work health and safety (WHS) and mobility and mutual aid requirements.

Participants will gain the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedure and provide a first aid response to a casualty across a range of situations, in line with guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national peak clinical bodies. The program also covers industry standard PPE and rescue equipment, safe approach distances, site specific hazard review, isolation processes and emergency response requirements.

Due to the high risk nature of the electrical industry, this course set is a mandatory requirement for many roles, ensuring employees develop and maintain the professional skills needed to respond confidently in an emergency.
